WHAT IS THE COMMITMENT?
It is as much or as little as you choose. As we are invited to visit schools, we will contact the nearest Ambassadors, if you would like to come, that’s all there is to it. A classroom session lasts on average 1-2 hours.

WILL I BE PESTERED FOR PARTICIPATION?
Certainly not, we will give you a quick phone call or an email as and when necessary.

WILL I BE ON MY OWN?
Never. You will always have a ‘Partner’ who is experienced in classroom attendance, and we insist that there are either teaching staff or school assistants with us at all times.

WHAT WILL I BE EXPECTED TO DO?
That’s easy - be yourself. What we want to do is allow the students to meet real, day to day business people who can talk about their experience and perhaps proffer some sound advice and possibly a challenge for a project or piece of work - we can talk you through that.

Part of the delivery in the classroom is an ‘Interview’ with the business person which we have structured and you will be fully briefed on.

WHAT IS YOUR REWARD AND RECOGNITION SCHEME?
Two things. We have lobbied against the ‘Taken for granted’ attitude and are able to pay expenses or a fee which at the moment is £40 per session.

This may not seem much of a reward, but we are the ONLY scheme that offers it. As regards recognition, we are working towards accreditation of the scheme and you would be able to quote this on your marketing and business material. We will also have regular press releases and publicity opportunities applauding business involvement - which you may have the choice of opting in or out.

WILL I ENJOY IT?
Yes, we think you will. The first time is a little daunting but we bring something different to the classroom and when we leave, it is almost always with a feeling of “Having made a contribution to the future”. It also helps us understand ourselves a little better, and importantly, gets us to check why we do the things we do - the way we do. Young people can be very perceptive in their questioning.
